memorial weekend part II
after sunday service, my parents and i took a little road trip up highway 1 for a few days.
the road wound along the cliff which made it hard to drive but the view up the coast was breath taking. it took us two days just to go up to mendocino stopping along the way whenever we see something interesting. we didn't book any hotels in advance because we werent' sure how far we could get each day, that made the "j" in me very unsettling, but it turned out just fine.

one of my favorite part about this trip was staying at the bed and breakfast places. they were all so cozy and cute!

this b & b is owned by these two swedish americans, so there were lots of decorations from sweden and they served swedish breakfast.
it makes me want to open one myself when i can't teach anymore...perhaps i'll can have a chinese theme b & b!

the b & b we stayed at in mendocino

mendocino art center - this bench was made with left over parts of an abandoned train which i thought was interesting.... if you look closely, you would recognized parts of kitchen appliances and tools in there
on wed. we drove further north just a bit to fort bragg; a big city just like mountain view with norml stores like safeway and starbucks. after lunch we took the 101 back down; and that's when i realized we were only 3 hours away from the southbay even tho it took us two days to drive up.

it was a lovely trip with my parents, since i don't get to see them all that much so it made these moments more precious.
