we're engaged!
we're engaged! mike popped the question during what seemed like a normal food trip to berkeley. we started out with lunch at la note and then met up with byron and maria at the gourmet ghetto for the usual round of gregoire's, cheeseboard, and love at first bite. afterwards we headed to campus to walk off our meals. at some point byron and maria disappeared because they "really had to use the restroom." mike took me to the campanile and gave me a letter to read. after i finished reading mike got down on his knees and proposed.

going to space
this week's theme at our preschool is space/planet.
joy: "who wants to go to the moon, our space shuttle is ready for take off!"
children: "me! me! i want to go."
joy: "come line up by the music room door."
D: " um... i don't think i want to go to the moon today."
R: " but it's just pretend."
D: " are you sure?"
R: "yeah, it's just pretend."
D: "ok, then i'll go too."
